Safety and Security
On February 9-11, 2010 over 1,600 exhibiting companies will display cutting-edge agricultural technology to attendees from more than 60 nations!
Planning for World Ag Expo has continued in a focused approach towards safety and security. Physical security will again be enhanced through the input and collaboration with the Tulare Police Department and other law enforcement agencies.
Guidelines
- A random number of exhibitor vehicles will be inspected prior to entry onto the show site.
- Bags, parcels and other “carry-ins” will be subject to random search.
- Biosecurity has been studied earnestly since April 2001. These measures will be in force for the 2010 World Ag Expo.
- Exhibitors who use cloven-hoofed livestock in the World Ag Expo site are asked to notify show management prior to February 1, 2010 so state veterinarians can review exhibit details to ensure minimal contact between attendees and livestock.
- Farm and dairy tours will be allowed. However, expo-sponsored tour participants will be asked to wear disposable shoe covers. Likewise, exhibitors are asked to notify show management by February 1, 2010 of their intent to conduct any farm/dairy tours so that state veterinarians can brief them of appropriate precautions and so that the expo can provide them with courtesy shoe covers.
- Local farms and dairies will be strongly cautioned in regards to allowing tours.
- No used farm machinery or equipment will be allowed onto the expo site except from the U.S. or Canada.
- Expo attendees from countries infected with Foot and Mouth Disease are asked to attend World Ag Expo only after they have been out of their country of origin for 5 days.
- No food or food products will be allowed onto the expo site by visitors from Foot and Mouth infected countries.
- Representatives of the United States Department of Agriculture and the California Department of Food and Agriculture will work closely with World Ag Expo management prior to and during the expo to administer these measures.
