The AEC 700 Series Tape Coupler lets you join 7/8 I.D. drip tape that will be retreived and reused more easily and more eff ectively than other couplers. You can join drip tape above ground and pass it through an appropriate injection tool to save time and labor. There's no more digging tape to install a bulky conventional coupler and no more expensive and timeconsuming heat splicing of tape and worrying whether the splice has a defect that can cause a troublesome leak or a costly blowout. Indicator marks on the coupler show precisely when the correct seal is achieved for each manufacturer's tape and wall thickness. The coupler's patent pending method of joining tape creates a leak-free seal without damaging the tape's thin, plastic walls. It is guaranteed to seal even the toughest thick-walled seamed tapes. The compact design allows retrieval of surface tape without snagging on plant material and the tapered body extracts buried tape up to 12 inches deep.

Agrid3 is the fi rst and only rodenticide registered for use in organic production. Made by Motomco Ltd., this highly palatable formulation features the active ingredient cholecalciferol. This acute rodenticide can kill rats and mice resistant to anticoagulants. The product meets OMRI organic listing requirements. It is labeled for use to control Norway rats, roof rats and house mice in and around agricultural buildings, including swine, poultry, cattle and dairy facilities and food storage buildings and warehouses. The unique mode of action of Agrid3 causes rats and mice to stop feeding after consuming a lethal dose. This saves money by reducing the total amount of bait consumed. The product's mode of action also substantially reduces the risk of secondary poisoning, making it an excellent all-around bait. Toxicity to birds is low. It is available as Chunx, an extruded bait that can be secured in place and as pellets. Both work indoors and out.

The only biosecure cow cremator on the market, the Biosecure Cow Cremator features patented technology for more efficient burning and lower operating and maintenance costs. Spiral flame action increases burn retention for a clean, thorough burn. When the temperature inside the thermostatically-controlled chamber reaches the desired level, the burner shuts down and air is forced into the chamber so that the carcass continues to burn with no unpleasant odors or smoke. This reduces full consumption up to 65 percent. The exclusive pre-tempered refractory block liner, which resists cracking, reflects and distributes heat throughout the unit. Individual blocks can be replaced easily at a fraction of the cost of buying a new unit. Available in 52-, 60-, and 64-inch widths with a standard 9-foot length, the Cow Cremator has an expected burn life more than double that of conventional units. Other features include an afterburner for pollution-free disposal and side cleanout door for sweeping out the ash.

The Orchard Brush Processor offers small orchard growers a cost-effective way to mulch their prunings for incorporation into the orchard fl oor. The pull-type, PTO-driven implement, made by Gearmore, costs one-fifth to onefourth the price of the only other machines on the market, which are built for custom operators. Designed for use with 95- to 140- hp tractors, the self-feeding Brush Processor shreds material up to 4 inches in diameter into a very fine mulch that decomposes in the rows without affecting harvest operations. Two hydraulic-driven pickup rotors feed the brush into the processing chamber. A 20-inch diameter rotor with 36 fixed triple-tipped tungsten carbide knives shreds the brush against seven rows of drop forged re-cutter bars into finer material. This mulch is forced through a fi ne-mesh heavy steel screen to produce the desired size. The 10-foot wide machine has a working width of 89 inches. The two pairs of dual flotation tires feature hydraulic height adjustment.

The one-of-akind Gopher Snake Gopher Bait Applicator is safer and more eff ective than a long-handled spoon for handling almost any gopher bait. It allows you to collect and distribute poison bait without spilling or touching it. And, it puts the bait directly into the gopher run - far from the tunnel opening and out of the reach of children, pets, birds and other animals - to ensure that it is available only to the gopher. The entrance can then be completely covered without disturbing the gopher or the bait. The spring-loaded control handle operates a 28-inch long fl exible cable connected to a piston, which moves in and out of a cylinder to collect, hold and dispense the bait. The handle is used to open the cylinder head to collect and place the bait and always returns to the closed position. Once the bait is in place, the control handle can be activated to deposit the bait.

By sweeping the rows of tree nut and fi g orchards in just one pass, the self-propelled, 80-hp Outback 4550-V Sweeper helps protect grower profits and the environment. A single pass down the row, instead of the two required by conventional sweepers, can reduce operator and fuel costs as well as engine exhaust emissions by as much as 50 percent, reports Orchard Equipment Manufacturing, which manufactures the unit. This also generates less dust to help meet air quality standards. The 16-foot wide, foldable sweeper fi ts 20- to 24-foot wide row spacings to collect the crop in a 3-foot wide windrow. The operator controls the bi-directional blower to blow from either the right or left side of the sweeper and can fold both brushes upright simultaneously from the cab for quick turns at row ends and for transport. The extra long blower spouts are designed to clear tree bases on either side more eff ectively.

Phosgard Plus, a unique liquid fertilizer, can help farmers improve the effi ciency of their fertilizer programs by balancing the readily available phosphate form and the time-released phosphite form of phosphorous for more uniform nutrient availability. It was developed by JH Biotech, Inc., using its patented technology. Unlike phosphates, which are tied up in the soil, the phosphite ion remains in the soil solution and is easily taken up by plant roots and foilage. In the soil and inside the plant, phosphite is slowly converted to phosphate, making Phosgard Plus act as a slow-release phosphorus source. Phosphite boosts the plant's immune system, increases plant vigor and growth and stimulates root development for more productive top growth. Phosgard Plus is eff ective through both foliar and soil applications on any crop to provide maximum uptake of phosphorus. It is ideal for fast-growing crops, like lettuce and spinach and helps improve quality of fruit-bearing crops, such as strawberries, apples and peaches.

Ranch Alert Engine is an Internet software program that does what no other farm or ranch monitoring system can do. It notifi es you by cell phone — using voice mail, text message or e-mail — of any of a wide range of critical conditions in the fi eld that require prompt attention. It will alert you immediately of a break in an irrigation line, heat and humidity levels that could harm crops or endanger fi eld workers or just about any other fi eld or crop condition that a sensor can detect. Data is collected by sensors plugged into a cellular base station, which is connected to a cell phone network, or gathered from miles around using a system of local sensors and wireless nodes. You control which specifi c conditions will trigger an alert and you can set it up to alert employees to take action. In addition to specifying how frequently the alerts are repeated, you can track which employee acknowledges them and when.
