Fire & Flood Emergency Services Receives U.S. Patent (U.S. Patent No. 12,533,537) for High-Volume Wildfire Suppression Technology

United States — Fire & Flood Emergency Services Ltd. (Fire & Flood) is pleased to announce the grant of United States Patent 12,533,537 on January 27, 2026, for its all- hazard high-volume wildfire suppression system, strengthening the company’s ability to support fire and emergency services agencies, federal, state and local governmental agencies, utilities, and critical infrastructure operators across the United States and Canada.

The patent broadly covers large-scale fire suppression systems, including Fire & Flood’s main commercial embodiment comprising above-ground mobile hydrants and extra large- diameter conduits engineered to deliver sustained, industrial-scale water volumes over extended distances across rugged and remote terrain in wildfire suppression and structural protection operations. Designed for environments where rural or municipal water, power, or access may be unavailable or compromised, the system operates independently of grid infrastructure and integrates directly with existing fire engines, structural protection sprinkler systems, and aerial firefighting assets.

The patented high-volume fire suppression system uses modular manifolds, extra large- diameter hose, high flow water cannons, and high-capacity pumping systems to deliver a continuous, pressurized water supply capable of materially altering fireground conditions, tens of miles away from a water source. By operating at scale, the system absorbs mass heat energy, increases relative humidity within the fire microclimate, and wets fuels, structures and/or infrastructure across wildland-urban interface environments. The system is capable of delivering up to 8,500 gallons of water per minute, enabling sustained operations equivalent to multiple heavy helicopter bucket drops every minute. Beyond the patented wildfire suppression system, Fire & Flood also deploys large-scale water movement capabilities for flood mitigation, including diversion and dewatering operations. In certain disaster response situations, such as post-earthquake recovery, these capabilities can also be used to restore and maintain household water service when primary infrastructure is damaged or offline.

Unlike conventional wildland hose systems which are limited by friction loss and volume constraints, Fire & Flood’s system is designed to support extended-duration operations, protect access and egress routes, and multiply the effectiveness and safety of frontline crews and aviation resources by bringing a high-volume water source directly to the firefighters. Refined through field deployment in active wildfire operations, the technology forms the basis of the company’s demonstrated ability in large-scale suppression and community protection.

Fire & Flood Founder and President Terry Raymond invented and developed the system by adapting large-scale industrial water movement methodologies to emergency response following major wildfire events in Western Canada. The approach reflects a shift toward suppression systems capable of operating at the scale and intensity now required as wildfire behavior has continued to escalate.

Fire & Flood works with federal, state, tribal, and local governments, as well as utilities and industrial operators responsible for critical infrastructure. The company maintains facilities and operations in both Canada and the United States and supports advance deployment, standby agreements, and pre-positioning of equipment ahead of wildfire seasons and other high-risk emergency periods.

Company officials said the U.S. patent will support expanded deployments, long-term partnerships, and proactive planning for agencies and asset owners facing increasing wildfire risk.

“Our focus is scale, speed, and reliability,” said Raymond. “This system was engineered to meet the realities of extreme, climate-driven disasters, where suppression capability must evolve to protect communities, responders, and critical assets.”

Fire & Flood has previously received patent approvals for the technology in Canada and Australia.
